The New ART TPS (Tube Preamp System) is a two-channel rack mountable microphone preamplifier that features V3™ (Variable Valve Voicing) functionality integrated into the preamplification sections. V3™ allows you to select between a multitude of preamp settings designed for guitars (electric and acoustic), keyboards, bass guitars, drums, vocals and more.

V3™ provides optimized reference points to begin the recording process. The V3™ presets were created and fine-tuned by some of the industry’s top studio and live-sound engineers, along with our veteran engineering department. Experience is on your side with V3™.

How can V3™ help me make better recordings? V3™ can help in many ways. For example, say you are recording a spiky snare drum. You don’t want the peaks to be too high going into the next link of your audio chain – and if you are recording to digital, you know how disasterous this can be. Digital distortion can ruin an otherwise awesome performance. ART has included OPL™ (ART’s Output Protection Limiter) circuitry on some of the V3™ settings. To tame this spiky snare, select a V3™ setting for drums. Try one with a warm setting with OPL™. Twist the V3™ knob…done. V3™ helped by saving set-up time and by saving the need for an external limiter. Cool just became even cooler.

V3™ even features a multi setting, which is useful for a wide variety of applications – like overhead micing, broadcast and field recording. No matter if you are recording a radio broadcast in the field, a choir in a cathedral, or a way-too-loud Marshall stack in your studio… V3™ can handle it. With V3™, it is now quicker and easier than ever to make great recordings.
